The following closure is scheduled on Eastbound State Road 84 to perform sound wall cleaning operation:
INSIDE LANE CLOSURES ON WESTBOUND I-595 BETWEEN PINE ISLAND ROAD AND NOB HILL ROAD FOR LOOP INSTALLATION ARE SCHEDULED ON SELECT NIGHTS FROM 9:00 PM TO 5:00 AM BEGINNING WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2026 THROUGH THURSDAY, JANUARY 29, 2026 - This closure is required to safely perform loop installation activities as part of the I-595 Resurfacing (Phase I) Project. The Full Closure is scheduled for Monday night, February 9, 2026 with a backup night on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. During this operation, drivers will be required to exit the freeway at Exit 5–6, travel east, and re-enter I-595 Eastbound at the next available on-ramp. Ongoing construction activities may be impacted by weather conditions. Please use caution in the area and follow all posted detour signs.
FULL CLOSURE ON I-595 EASTBOUND GENERAL PURPOSE LANES FROM NOB HILL ROAD TO PINE ISLAND ROAD FOR LOOP INSTALLATION IS SCHEDULED FROM 10:00 PM TO 5:00 AM ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2026 THROUGH TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2026 — This closure is required to safely perform loop installation activities as part of the I-595 Resurfacing (Phase I) Project. The Full Closure is scheduled for Tuesday night, February 9, 2026 with a backup night on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. During this operation, drivers will be required to exit the freeway at Exit 5–6, travel east, and re-enter I-595 Eastbound via the University Drive on-ramp. The Pine Island Road on-ramp from State Road 84 will also be closed during this operation. Drivers will be directed to continue east on State Road 84 and enter the freeway using the University Drive on-ramp. Ongoing construction activities may be impacted by weather conditions. Please use caution in the area and follow all posted detour signs.
In addition to ongoing maintenance activities, the I-595 Resurfacing Project began on Sunday, June 22, 2025. This project includes repaving the I-595 corridor—encompassing the Express Lanes, general-purpose lanes, and State Road 84—to improve the durability and resilience of the roadway. It also involves upgrading signage and pavement markings to meet current standards and enhancing the pavement surface for a smoother, safer driving experience. All work is being performed during nighttime hours to minimize impacts on daytime traffic. Updates on lane closures and project progress will continue to be shared as work advances.
