The following closures are scheduled on Eastbound/Westbound I-595, Eastbound/Westbound State Road 84 and Turnpike to perform bridge work order repairs, lighting repairs, sidewalk repairs, and the installation of new uprights, truss structures, and static signage:
Full closure on Northbound Florida's Turnpike ramp to I-595 / I-95 / State Road 84 (between mile markers 55 and 56); the ramp will be closed from 10:00pm to 4:00am on Monday, April 20, 2026 to Friday, April 24, 2026. Detour route will be in place and drivers will be directed to continue to Griffin Road, then to US-441 North, and follow the ramps to I-595 / I-95 / State Road 84.
Full closure on Southbound Turnpike ramp (Exit 54) to I-595 / I-95 / State Road 84; the exit will be closed from 9:00pm to 5:00am on Monday, April 13, 2026 to Friday, April 17, 2026. Detour route will be in place and drivers will be directed to continue to Griffin Road, then to US-441 North, and follow the ramps to I 595 / I 95 / State Road 84.
Full closure on the ramp from I-75 Southbound to I-595 Eastbound; the closure will be in effect from 9:00pm to 5:00am on Monday, April 20, 2026 to Friday, April 24, 2026. Detour route will be in place and drivers will be directed to continue north to the Sawgrass Expressway, proceed east on Sunrise Boulevard, then south on NW 136th Avenue to State Road 84 Eastbound to re-enter I-595 eastbound; alternate traffic will be directed to continue on State Road 84 eastbound to SW 136th Avenue to re-enter I-595.
INSIDE LANE CLOSURES ON WESTBOUND I-595 BETWEEN PINE ISLAND ROAD AND NOB HILL ROAD FOR LOOP INSTALLATION ARE SCHEDULED ON SELECT NIGHTS FROM 10:00 PM TO 5:00 AM ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 2026 WITH A BACK UP NIGHT ON THURSDAY, APRIL 16, 2026 — These closures are necessary to safely perform loop installation activities as part of the I-595 Resurfacing (Phase I) project. Inside lane closures is scheduled for the night of April 15, 2026 with a backup night on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Ongoing construction activities may be impacted by weather conditions. Please use caution in the area and follow all posted signs for guidance during closure activities.
In addition to ongoing maintenance activities, the I-595 Resurfacing Project began on Sunday, June 22, 2025. This project includes repaving the I-595 corridor—encompassing the Express Lanes, general-purpose lanes, and State Road 84—to improve the durability and resilience of the roadway. It also involves upgrading signage and pavement markings to meet current standards and enhancing the pavement surface for a smoother, safer driving experience. All work is being performed during nighttime hours to minimize impacts on daytime traffic. Updates on lane closures and project progress will continue to be shared as work advances.
